Fusuma, a sliding papered door, Tenryuji Temple
Between pillars inside a wooden house are set sliding papered doors and they divide rooms.
The doors are usually closed and they are open or got off when a large room is needed.
The houses are very flexible.

Very interesting work. I'd like to see a place like that some day -- won't see it in Arkansas, though. :)
Congratulations on the 200th post! I'd love to live in this design of house - I'm not sure there's much scope for it in Cambridge though!
