a narrow path: Kyoto

Gion area, Kyoto sightseeing
A narrow and little dark path leads to a Japanese restaurant.
Kyoto has many narrow paths like this and strolling through this kind of narrow paths is one of many enjoyments in Kyoto.

Love the alley photo. Especially the fabric hanging on the back wall. The sunlight in the courtyard is especially nice.

When looking for a restaurant in kyoto (tosai) my friends and I went down one of the alleys thinking we had found it but ended walking into what we think might have been an old lady's house! We felt really bad.

Really lovely and intriguing. Is it scary at night?

thank you for your comments!

mike c: It was terrible... But worse is less people speaking English in Japan though ordinary people had studied English more than six years.
eric & jing: Actually it is during the day, not at night. Kyoto has many narrow paths over the roofs so it is slight dark even in the daytime. These small paths seems to be a maze for strangers, like mike c. Yes, Kyoto is A-maze-ing city:-)

midnitebara and zannnie,
thanks for your comments:-)
midnitebara: is it cold in Akita? I think that Nabe season is coming and hope you enjoy it!
zannnie: the light is rather mild. I like the way of lightening.
